The Challenge
The phones stop ringing at 5pm. The visitors don't.
Roofing emergencies happen after hours. Retail shoppers compare shoes at midnight. In both cases the customer has a question, the business has an answer, and there's nobody at a desk to close the loop. Voicemails get missed, contact forms sit until morning, and the intent that walked in the door walks right back out.
The goal was simple: make the website capable of answering the top questions on its own, capturing a lead when it can't, and growing the list every time a shopper shows up curious.
The Approach
One chat surface per brand, tuned to how that brand actually sells.
Two very different businesses, two very different chat personalities. Rob's Roofing needs to sound like a calm after-hours dispatcher who can talk about leaks, timing, and getting a real human on the phone in the morning. Mephisto Scottsdale needs to sound like the store, quick answers on orders, returns, and sizing, with an easy on-ramp to the email list.
Chapter 01, Rob's Roofing After-Hours Assistant
Answers roofing questions when the office is closed.
Opens with a clear "our offices are closed right now" so expectations are set immediately. Answers common roofing questions in plain language, points people toward the free inspection flow, and always leaves a path back to a real human. When the assistant can't fully resolve the question, one tap opens a branded callback form so the first person at their desk in the morning already has the lead teed up.

Chapter 02, Mephisto Scottsdale Chat
A menu of the questions shoppers actually ask.
Instead of a blank chat box, the widget opens with a curated "Instant answers" menu, track my order, how to create a return, return portal not working, sizing, return policy. Tap one and the answer arrives instantly in the store's voice, no waiting on a rep, no hunting through the footer. A "Sign up for updates" button sits in the same surface so the shopper who just got their return question answered can opt into email in the same breath.

Why This Matters
A 24/7 front door without a 24/7 staff.
Chat assistants don't replace the team, they extend it. Rob's Roofing captures leads while the crews sleep. Mephisto Scottsdale answers the same five questions a hundred times a day without tying up a rep, and turns a chunk of that traffic into email subscribers on the way out. Same pattern, two brands, one weekend of building each.
